About the Author

Seamus Boshell, originally from Dublin, Ireland, now lives in Boston with his wife, two children, and Bernedoodle. A graduate of Indiana University’s MFA Program, he has been published in ZYZZYVA and the Indiana University Press. He has won awards at the UCLA Extension Writing Program, the Vermont Studio Center, and Arteles Creative Center in Finland.

He is the author of The Great Wall of Ballygall, published by WIPF and Stock Publishers.

He is a member of the Kwan Um School of Zen and holds five precepts. His Buddhist name is Kwan Bi, which means Perceive Compassion. He has been practicing with the School since 1996.

Along with Mark O’Leary & Joe O’Farrell he assists in facilitating a Zen meditation group at a local prison. He also co-leads a class entitled Path of Freedom, Building Mindfulness-Based Emotional Intelligence, developed by the Prison Mindfulness Institute.
